We have been members of the Y for years and years. We joined so my husband and I could work out. My daughter joined the swim team and became a lifeguard. My entire family has a membership. I do cardio, the classes and sometimes more. My husband uses the weights and swims. He got connected with the Rye Tri through the Y and has
been doing cycling classes. My teenage son uses the weights as well.
I was part of the diabetes prevention program two years in a row. I found it to be very good. I’ve lost weight and gained weight. If I hadn’t had the program, I don’t know where I’d be. I know I would be significantly more out of shape and less fit. The program keeps me in check.
We live in Rye Neck and go to church in Rye. We haven’t been members elsewhere but I know members gravitate here because it always feels good. I always feel better when I leave. There are “real” people here.
