Thankful for the Y Cares Program

I am a single mother of four children and we really appreciate the Y Cares Program to help financially.  My children love going to the Rye Y for camp and if it was not for this program, I do not know what I would do.  When I drop off my children, I feel at ease not having to worry about a thing.  I have had my children here for the last seven years thankfully with the help of the Y Cares Program.  This program really helps families like mine.  I hope this program continues because I would like to enroll my last child when she gets a bit older.

Your generous and supportive help

Thank you very much for your support.  I am a Cancer Survivor and the LIVESTRONG Program at the Y help me to recapture my spirit and my strength.  The Rye Y seems to be the most generous and supportive of all groups – the young, the older generation and those with special needs.  I have been involved with other groups, but the spirit of the Rye Y is tops.  Thank you.

Your Invaluable Help

We want to express our thanks to all the donors because your financial assistance has been invaluable to us.  Last year in November my 3 year old son was diagnosed with a small delay in speech, he did not qualify for any service.  The doctor did suggest to find for him some courses where he can spend time with other children of their own age.  We started looking, but all were very expensive and our economy it is a little tight to pay it.

We felt frustrated not being able to find something for our son that we could pay.  One person told us about this wonderfull place the YMCA in Rye and the opportunity to apply for some financial assistance.  We were blessed because we approved.  Now my son is taking swimming and sport sampler classes and some weeks in the camp.

Since he is going to these classes and we have seen our son has greatly improved its shares of socialization and development in his language too.  Whitout their donations and good heart this would not have been possible.  “Thank you very much” to all and each of the donors, because their donations help change and improves lives in many children and families as us.

Please receive warm greetings of my son and us.  God bless you.

Making More Possible

November is gratitude month – here is an example of the impact our donors make everyday!

Your donations make it possible for me to be a member of the Rye YMCA.  Let me tell you what that means to me.

I attend the evening aqua jog classes twice a week. It is not only about the exercise I get. I also enjoy the camaraderie of the women as well as our instructor, Sarah, who always brings a good dose of humor to the pool. Then there are the times when we have gotten together socially to enjoy a happy hour or a meal at a local restaurant. Of course, there is a problem with that. It’s hard to recognize each other when we’re not wearing our swimsuits!

In other words, it’s not just about the swimming. It’s so much more. That leaves me with a problem. How can I adequately thank you for all that you’ve brought to my life at the Rye Y? I’ll just have to say “thank you” but there ought to be a word that says so much more.
