Changing a Life

Dear Y Cares Program,

I would like to say thank you for your financial assistance.  The Y Cares financial assistance program has made an amazing impact on my family.  I am a single mother who works hard, and this year summer arrived very quickly.

While looking into many camps, it became very difficult to find one that would take my son because he was only five (most camps they have to be six) years old.  I stumbled across the Y summer program and asked around and was told about the assistance program.  I never imagined that I would be eligible.

It made me very happy that my son would be attending an amazing camp with such diversity and so many different activities.  The staff has been so great and the fact that my son loves his camp and has stepped out of his shell (because he is very shy) means the world to me.  The Y program helped me because I am able to continue to work and provide for the two of us.

One of the best things is that I work in Rye and my son is only minutes away.  Many may not know, but looking for a camp can be nerve recking and making sure your child is happy and safe is most important and I feel very secure at the Y camp.  So, thank you.

Weight Watchers at the Rye Y

Achievement is an important focus here at the Y, and many of our members and staff have been achieving success with weight loss through participation in our Weight Watchers program.  Together, our Weight Watcher participants have lost over 200 lbs. — and they are keeping it off!

If you need guidance in your weight loss journey, please consider joining Weight Watchers where you will enjoy the benefits of a supportive group of people on the same journey who will be there to help you along the way.  Weight Watchers meets at the Rye Y every Thursday at 1:00-1:45 PM.

Feeling better, healthier and stronger with the Y!
