Rye Y Gymnasts Win Two First Place Trophies in State Championships

RYE, NEW YORK (April 29, 2010)  The Rye Y Gymnastics team won dozens of trophies and ribbons at the YMCA New Yorkgymnastics_states State Gymnastics Championships in Glen Falls, April 23- 25.  The 2010 champions include: 1st place winners Caitlyn Walsh and Miffy Riley, 2nd place winners Chloe Henderson and Maija Karppinen and third place winners Genna Haddad, Eliza Adamo, Kimberley Ramos, Debbie Musselman and Rachel Waxenberg.  Overall, out of ten teams, the Rye Y placed 2nd in Level 5 and 3rd in Level 4.  The girls are now preparing for the May 14 regional competition in New Hampshire.

Level 4 highlights: 3rd place as team.
Caitlyn Walsh placed 1st all around in her age division with 9.45 on floor, 9.25 on vault, 9.15 on bars and 8.8 on beam.
Chloe Henderson placed 2nd all around in her age division with 9.65 on vault, 9.5 on beam, 9.15 on floor and 9.05 on bars.
Genna Haddad placed 3rd all around in her age division with 9.3 on vault, 9.3 on beam, 8.8 on bars and 8.55 on floor.
Eliza Adamo placed 3rd all around in her age division with 9.3 on vault, 9.1 on bars, 9.0 on floor and 8.45 on beam.
Kimberley Ramos placed 3rd all around in her age division with 9.5 on bars, 9.35 on floor, 9.1 on vault and 8.8 on beam.
Emily Sanges placed 4th all around in her age division with 9.4 on beam, 9.1 on vault, 8.7 on floor and 8.6 on bars.
Stacey Reissner placed 4th all around in her age division with 9.4 on floor, 9.35 on beam, 9.2 on vault and 9.0 on bars.
Sinead Rynne placed 4th all around in her age division with 9.2 on vault, 9.15 on floor, 8.5 on beam and 8.4 on bars.
Ameila Haddad placed 5th all around in her age division with 9.35 on floor, 9.35 on vault, 9.2 on bars and 8.3 on beam.
Jessica Graham placed 6th all around in her age division with 9.3 on floor, 9.0 on vault and 8.3 on beam.
Shannon Keane placed 6th all around in her age division with a 9.45 on beam, 9.15 on floor, 9.1 on vault and 8.5 on bars.
Lily Donohue scored 9.1 on floor, 9.05 on vault, 9.0 on bars and 8.9 on  beam.
Ilana Serin scored 9.4 on vault, 8.75 on floor, 8.75 on beam and 8.6 on bars.
Jackie Rieth scored 9.05 on bars, 8.9 on beam, 8.9 on vault and 8.0 on floor.
Alex Meyer scored 9.1 on vault, 8.9 on beam, 8.5 on bars and 8.5 on floor.

Level 5 highlights: 2nd place as team.
Miffy Riley placed 1st all around in her age division with 9.85 on floor, 9.4 on bars, 9.35 on vault and 9.1 on beam.
Debbie Musselman placed 3rd all around in her age division with 9.35 on floor, 9.3 on vault, 9.25 on bars and 8.55 on beam.
Rachel Waxenberg placed 3rd all around in her age division with 9.1 on vault, 9.0 on bars, 8.45 on floor and 8.35 on beam.
Lyndsey Will scored 9.25 on vault, 9.1 on floor, 8.35 on bars and 8.0 on beam.
Colleen DeConcini scored 9.2 on vault, 9.0 on floor and 8.1 on bars.
Hannah Yeager scored 8.8 on floor, 8.7 on vault and 8.5 on beam.

Level 6 highlights:
Maija Karppinen placed 2nd all around in her age division with 9.15 on floor, 8.95 on beam and 8.75 on vault.
Chloe Schettino placed 6th all around in her age division with 9.65 on floor and 8.9 on vault.
