Rye Y Gymnasts Bring Home Trophies from CT State Championships
Rye, NY [March 30, 2011] The Rye YMCA gymnastics team returned March 27 from the 2011 CT State Championships in Glastonbury, CT with
several trophies and medals. All around champions (3rd and 4th place) are: Debbie Musselman, Jackie Reith, Chloe Schettino, Remi White and Jessica Graham. Remi White and Chloe Schettino also placed first in the vault championships.The gymnasts are now working hard preparing for the Northeast Regional Championships in May, held in Waterville, Maine.
Level 4 highlights: 7th place team award.
6-7 year old age division:
Olivia Ham was the 8th place all around champion with 8.35 on vault, 8.4 on bars, 7.4 on beam, and 8.95 on floor.
Molly Richardson was the 9th place all around champion with 8.2 on vault, 8.4 on bars, 7.5 on beam, and 8.2 on floor.
8 year old age division:
Jessica Graham was the 4th place all around champion with 8.65 on vault, 8.7 on bars, 8.7 on beam, and 9.1 on floor.
McKenna Shultz was the 9th place all around champion with 8.8 on vault, 8.2 on bars, 8.65 on beam, and 8.6 on floor.
Hallie Rosenfield was the 10th place all around champion with 8.2 on vault, 8.15 on bars, 9.0 on beam, and 8.85 on floor.
9 year old age division:
Tessa Brooks was the 10th place all around champion with 9.15 on vault, 8.75 on bars, 8.5 on beam, and 8.55 on floor.
10 year old age division:
Cayla Brown scored 8.85 on vault, 8.7 on bars, 8.3 on beam, and 8.55 on floor.
12 and up age division:
Emma Schmitt was the 8th place all around champion with 8.45 on vault, 8.7 on bars, 8.6 on beam, and 8.05 on floor.
Level 5 highlights: 6th place team award.
7- 9 age division:
Remi White was the 4th place all around champion and 1st place vault champion with 9.1 on vault, 8.1 on bars, 9.1 on beam, and 8.6 on floor.
Caitlyn Walsh was the 7th place all around champion with 8.5 on vault, 8.0 on bars, 8.4 on beam, and 9.0 on floor.
11 year old age division:
Jackie Reith was the 3rd place all around champion with 8.65 on vault, 9.05 on bars, 9.0 on beam, and 8.8 on floor.
Lily Donohue was the 8th place all around champion with 7.6 on vault, 8.5 on bars, 8.2 on beam, and 8.65 on floor.
Alex Meyer scored 7.6 on vault, 8.35 on bars, 8.2 on beam, 8.45 on floor.
Chloe Henderson scored 8.6 on vault, 8.1 on bars, 7.65 on beam, and 7.7 on floor.
Shannon Keane scored 7.65 on vault, 8.05 on bars, 7.4 on beam, and 8.3 on floor.
12 year old age division:
Maggie Semprevivo was the 10th place all around champion with 8.2 on vault, 7.8 on bars, 8.8 on beam, and 8.45 on floor.
Hannah Yeager scored 7.8 on vault, 8.2 on bars, 7.5 on beam, and 7.8 on floor.
14 and up age division:
Amelia Haddad was the 5th place all around champion with 8.7 on vault, 8.1 on bars, 9.05 on beam, and 8.3 on floor.
Level 6 highlights: 6th place team award.
11 year old age division:
Rachel Waxenberg was the 9th place all around champion with 8.9 on vault, 8.2 on bars, 7.75 on beam, and 8.0 on floor.
12 year old age division:
Debbie Musselman was the 2nd place all around champion and 1st place bar champion with 9.3 on vault, 9.2 on bars, 8.8 on beam, and 8.85 on floor.
Chloe Schettino was the 4th place all around champion and 1st place vault champion with 9.5 on vault, 8.4 on bars, 8.9 on beam, and 8.75 on floor.
13 year old age division:
Kana White was the 8th place all around champion with 8.8 on vault, 8.65 on bars, 8.7 on beam, and a 8.3 on floor.

Registration for the next session starts April 6 for members and April 8 for non-members. Future and current gymnasts can register now for the Gymnastics April Vacation Camp, April 18-22. The camp, for ages 5 and up, runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm or 9 am – 3 pm and includes gymnastic skills, drills, tumbling, open workouts and the opportunity to swim each day.
